malachy tends to make lots of people butt hurt; you'll get over it eventually

To top things off, he banned me the next morning.

Do you still have your beard?

If so, rub peanut butter on it and let my bear lick it off.

I need my beard now more than ever, what with all the snow I'm currently skiing through.

You gotta watch those slopes, and I bet I can guess where you skiied

$10 says you can't :D

YOU LIE! We all know Malachy doesn't exist and is just M-Bot's alt.

...then who the HELL was a skiing with?? D:

ITNP [in this news post]: went skiing = ass raping

...wait, it's not rape if it's consensual. nvm!

I went ass raping with Malachy?

I guess, if I was going out to rape asses, Mal is as good a wingman as any

Who was the bad ass and who was the One that looked retarded

I looked awesome, and Mal was all like, "I ski properly and in control and stuff"

Nerd.

I'll be skiing with many NGers a week on Saturday.

Oh man - when and where?

I probably would have laughed had I seen it

You falling or getting ass raped

Either one is hilarious

I never fall ):<

...no comment on the ass-rape part.

Why must you disparage my good [user]name??

Dude you look like a total doofus with your heels together! And I make skiing look good.

Pffft you make skiing look nerdy.

Skiis shoulder-length apart - sheesh, what are you, my Grandpa?

The Manchester meet this time next week. Can't wait for it.

You're skiing in Manchester?

Well I never!

skeeing.

shoulder width is a natural stance just like in football, soccer, baseball, basketball you need to be centered and ready to move in any direction. It is the natural space your feet want to be in when you aren't doing anything.

Feet together does not allow one to utilize the shape of the skis or the technology put into them. It's like shelling out $400+ for a PS3 only to play backward-compatible PS2 games.

Other tips would be to counter-lean against your legs when making turns. While your ankles and knees are bent up the hill you should bend slightly at the hip to keep your torso level so to speak. Allow counter-rotation when making turns so that your shoulders are facing down the hill while your toes point to the side of the trail so to speak (although not that extreme of an angle)

Before initiating a new turn allow your body to naturally shift from the uphill edge to the downhill edge at the natural end of your turn (just before you start to go back up the hill). This is when you will do a pole plant, a slight tap of the tip of the pole tot he side of the tip of your downhill ski, this automatically shifts your body into position for the next turn (which is why you keep your shoulders level and facing down the hill, it allows for easier transition between turns, imagine trying to turn your legs 180 degrees, you'll want to twist your body a bit before hand so that the skis will follow, this is why you do the countering movements, so that you stay level.

All of this is done in the natural "athletic stance", feet shoulder width apart, knees and ankles flexed and hips forward a bit.

I like to keep my thumbs just in my field of vision and try to keep them level...so that you keep them forward and not down at our sides. It makes pole plants easier and the transition easier. People tend to sit in the back seat if they keep their arms down at their sides while skiing, which only leads to less control.
